We were in Can Tho and looking for something authentic – this tour was perfect. Our driver picked us up early and drove us to Ben Tre, where we met Thomas, our guide. He’s really friendly and shared lots of history and stories without overwhelming us. I loved the slow pace of this day. We took a boat through coconut-lined rivers, saw how bricks and coconut candies are made, and met local weavers. Thomas helped us interact with the artisans in a respectful, curious way. Lunch was filling and fresh, especially the elephant ear fish! Afterward, riding the Xe Lôi through narrow village paths was such a fun touch. But it was the final rowing boat journey that stayed with me – peaceful, green, and utterly beautiful. A gentle way to experience rural Vietnam.
We were staying in Can Tho for a few days and decided to take this private day trip to Ben Tre. I’m so glad we did! Our guide Lâm was waiting at the pier when we arrived, and his warm, cheerful energy made the entire day fly by. We started with a scenic boat cruise and visited a small brick factory. It was really interesting to see the traditional way of making bricks – it’s still very manual. Then we went to a coconut workshop, where we tasted candy and learned how locals use every part of the coconut. Lunch was in a peaceful garden – everything was home-cooked and full of flavor. The Xe Lôi ride afterward gave us a great glimpse of daily life in the Mekong Delta. And the little sampan ride? So serene, just meandering through quiet canals with the wind in our hair.
We’d been moving pretty fast through Vietnam – Hanoi, Hue, Saigon – and this tour was exactly the break we needed. Minh was our guide and he had a very calm and kind energy that made the whole day smooth. We started with the boat ride and visited the brick kilns, then moved on to a small coconut factory where everything was handmade. Minh took time to show us the different steps of the candy-making process and shared lots of little cultural stories that made it all come alive. The countryside was so green and peaceful. The Xe Lôi ride was especially fun – slow but full of life. Our lunch stop was like visiting someone’s home. The food was simple but perfectly done. And the canoe ride afterward was just… serene. It reminded me why I travel.
What a charming and beautiful experience! I joined this tour with my boyfriend, and it turned out to be one of the most special days on our Vietnam trip. We were picked up in Can Tho and reached Ben Tre by late morning, where Duy welcomed us with the biggest smile. He took us first to a small brick kiln, then to a coconut house where we saw how coconut candy is made – and of course we got to try it! I loved learning how many things they make from coconuts. Duy explained everything with passion and humor. The countryside ride on the Xe Lôi was simple but memorable. Kids waved at us, and we got a true sense of rural life. The lunch was tasty and peaceful, with a hammock area where we chilled for a bit. And that sampan ride at the end – wow! Floating in silence through the coconut palms was like entering another world.
I traveled with my parents and was initially worried about the heat and logistics, but everything went so smoothly thanks to Thomas. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the day and gave detailed explanations in a calm, friendly tone that my parents really appreciated. The boat ride in Ben Tre was peaceful and scenic. We stopped at several places, but what stood out was the mat weaving village. The women were incredibly skilled, and Thomas helped translate so we could ask them questions. It felt respectful and authentic. Lunch was a real highlight – lots of fresh dishes served in a shaded garden. We tried the elephant ear fish, and my dad even asked for seconds! Afterward, the hand-rowed sampan ride was cool and relaxing. On the drive back to Can Tho, we all agreed this had been one of our favorite days in Vietnam.
I wanted a break from the usual touristy sights and this tour gave me just that. We were picked up at our hotel in Can Tho at 8 AM and reached Ben Tre just before 11, where David greeted us warmly at the pier. From the moment we stepped onto the boat, I knew we were in good hands. David showed us the old brick kilns first – a humble but fascinating part of local industry. Then we visited a coconut house that opened my eyes to how versatile the coconut is. Coconut candy, oil, wine, even utensils! We tasted fresh samples and even got to watch part of the candy-making process. The lunch in the orchard was so peaceful. The elephant ear fish was delicious, and we had time to relax under the trees. My favorite part was the sampan ride – we floated through a narrow, shady canal with just the sound of the paddle dipping into the water. This felt like seeing the real Vietnam.
100% recomendado.
