I only had a few hours in Sa Dec, and this tour filled them with beauty and meaning. David was our guide and such a friendly soul — he made everyone feel welcome and curious. The flower village was even better than expected — not just rows of blooms, but a real sense of tradition and pride among the growers. The sampan ride through Xeo Quyt was peaceful beyond words. David gently pointed out details in the trees and explained the significance of the Viet Cong hideouts in the forest. We ended the tour with two lovely sites in the town: the ancient house and the pagoda — both photogenic and full of story. Highly recommended if you want a gentle yet rich cultural experience.
We took the morning tour with Thomas, and it was a perfect way to discover the charm of Sa Dec. Thomas was full of energy and had a great sense of humor, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The flower village was incredibly photogenic — fields of colors everywhere you turned. Thomas told us about the seasonal rhythms of the growers, and we even met a farmer who let us smell different kinds of roses. Xeo Quyt forest was calm and mystical, especially the sampan ride under the canopy. The stories of the war added another layer of meaning to the peaceful scenery. I especially loved the visit to the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le — I’m going to read L’Amant now!
Chris took us on this short but rich tour of Sa Dec, and it truly felt like discovering a hidden side of the country. We had never heard of Sa Dec before this — now we’ll never forget it. The flower village was in full bloom, with so many colors and scents. Chris explained the agricultural techniques and how this village supplies flowers across southern Vietnam. At Xeo Quyt, he let us enjoy the silence of the sampan ride, only adding bits of history when the time was right — I appreciated that. The last part, with the French-style house and the Chinese pagoda, gave the perfect mix of love story and heritage. Molto bello!
This half-day tour from Sa Dec was an unexpected highlight of our Vietnam trip. Duy picked us up right on time, and from the first minute, he made us feel comfortable. His English is excellent, and his storytelling is vivid. I loved how we started with bright colors in the flower village and slowly transitioned into the green quiet of Xeo Quyt. The sampan ride was gentle, peaceful, and eye-opening — seeing the old wartime bunkers while surrounded by nature was quite powerful. The ancient house and pagoda added a romantic and spiritual end. I learned so much from Duy — not just facts, but emotion and meaning. A beautiful experience.
Merci, Hannah!
We booked this tour as a break from Saigon's hustle — and it delivered beautifully. Hannah was our guide and she was excellent: thoughtful, clear, and very passionate about the region. We started early, which meant we beat the heat and the crowds. The flower village was like walking through a rainbow. Hannah pointed out different flower species and told us stories about how families prepare these for Tet holiday. The forest at Xeo Quyt was peaceful, with the sampan gently gliding under the green canopy. And then the historic town stops added such nice depth — the ancient house had a story you wouldn’t expect from such a quiet town.
Chris is one of the best guides we’ve had in Vietnam. Friendly, relaxed, but full of insight and great stories. The morning started in the flower village, which was far more than just pretty — it’s a working agricultural space, and Chris helped us understand the local livelihoods. Then at Xeo Quyt, we slowly drifted through the forest on a small sampan. The trees, vines, and silence were hauntingly beautiful. You wouldn’t guess there were bunkers hidden beneath that calm surface. He ended the trip with a short walking tour in town — the pagoda and the Lover’s House were both stunning. A perfectly balanced experience.
This was such a charming half-day adventure. Lâm met us with a bright smile and from the start, made everything easy and enjoyable. He clearly loves the region — and it showed. The flower village was vibrant beyond words. We strolled through rows and rows of colorful blooms while Lâm explained how Sa Dec has become a floral hub for all of southern Vietnam. Then came Xeo Quyt, which was completely different — calm, mysterious, shaded in green. I loved the sampan ride. It felt like entering a secret world. Ending the tour with the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le and the old temple gave us a soft landing — a touch of romance and reflection.
